Many US law schools prefer that you study something less directly related to the law for your undergrad degree. I'm not saying that studying criminology for your BA will keep you out of all US law schools, but... law schools, to be honest, don't love that major. Law schools prefer that they are the ones that train you in the law. They feel that if you've majored in criminology, they have to "untrain" you, and worse, that you may come in feeling like you already know it all. That said, if you truly love that major, do it. It's likely you'll do better in a major that you really like, than in one that you're just taking because you think a law school would want to see it - and your undergrad grades are very, very important to law school admissions. To get into a US law school, you'll need to take the LSAT as you approach the end of your bachelors degree years. If you study at a US law school, can you practice in Canada? What hoops must you jump through? These are things you'd want to research while you study your BA.
