University of North Dakota or Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Both schools offer Bachelor of Science degrees in Aviation/Flight, and you can earn your commercial pilot's license for a lot less than one of those for-profit commercial schools.

If you really want to learn something about flying planes, go to your local small airport and find some grizzled old gray haired instructor who's not building time to get to an airline. He's teaching flying because he loves to fly and/or loves to teach. It'll be cheaper in the long run and you'll come out a better pilot for it.

There's always the Air Force Academy. You can earn a bachelor's degree, earn your wings, get some unique experience and have one hell of a resume to take to the real world.
