I live in the UK and want to move to USA an attend an American school or college is this possible.?
This may sound like a stupid question but I had to ask. Basically I would like to move to America in the near future, and i would like to attend a Cooking school of some sort. I haven't got a clue on where to start or weather it is actually possible. If it is possible can you possibly tell me on where to start and how to do this.

Yes this is possible all you need is a student visa to enter the country and attend the school of your choice a friend of mine did it about 5 years ago im sorry but i don't know the process but im sure if you looked along those lines you would be able to figure it out.

There are various cooking schools, but it will be quite expensive just to let you know. To me it would be much more economical to study either in the UK or in Europe-vast more choices about there too. Job opportunities would be more apparent as well I should think. America has a glut on almost every occupation with this economic downturn. You'd need to be quite talented in order to secure a well-paying chef job.

How hard is it to get an MBA from a decent school

How hard is it to get an MBA from a decent school?
I am thinking about getting an MBA from a decent school in the USA (not top level schools like Harvard or Wharton), more like UC riverside, NYU, etc. But I have a few problems: I have an undergraduate degree and work experience in computer science, do I have to have experience in commerce? I do have a minor in economics though. My GPA is also below 3.0, but is that really important? What are my chances of getting in?

If your parents have money, you need doodly squat in terms of smarts.

Richie is right: If you have money, any name liberal school would be honored to grant you admission and an MBA. There are plenty of good schools all over the country that have good/descent/reputable/recognized MBA's.

How far below 3.0? Any accredited grad school will require at least a 3.0, but will entertain borderline cases. These, however, will be non-competitive grad schools where the fight for available seats to students is minimal, if it exists at all. As the school's ranking progressively increases, so do the fundamental requirements and GPA is the single most powerful driver. Since you have real work experience under your belt, that will also be taken into consideration, however. And no, no need to have experience in commerce.

NYU is a TOP SCHOOL............. aside from that.....GPA and GMAT are both counted highly............... aside from that ..life experience counts.....................Check out Baruch.good school and cheap...............

The International Baccalaureate is not used in the USA. American students start school at age 5/6 and continue for 12 years, at the end of that time they get a high school (secondary school) diploma. This is not considered the equal of an IB. If you come to the USA after completing your Baccalaureate you will be entered in most American colleges as a sophomore or even a junior (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior). Most US colleges are happy to have students who have completed a high level Bac. Nearly every US college has a website with the address of its admissions department. You can email them and they will email back with information about their policies. Many 10,000s of foreign students come to the USA every year, and almost every college is happy to have them. Of course, the most competitive colleges (like the Ivy league, Duke, Stanford, University of Chicago, etc) have very few spaces for foreign students, but there are more than 1500 other US universities to choose from.
