School year's structure in the USA

School year's structure in the USA?
I have to write a paper about the USA teaching system and I don't know anything about these stuff, because I live in Europe, I searched a lot on the net but I didn't find any useful and exact info. I'd need some details about when the school year begins when does it end, about brakes, everything that related to school in the USA. Thank you!!

a problem for you right now is that it is sunday,7:30AM in on east coast, and 3:30AM in california, so there are not a lot of school kids up right now, maybe. I was in school long ago, and things have changed a lot. Here are a few things: as in europe, we have kindergarten, but attendance is not mandatory. elementary school is 1st through 6th grade. we usually start 1st grade at 6 years old jr high school is 7th and 8th grade. high school is 9th through 12th grade. often, these groupings of grades are in different buildings so that the elementary kids don't mix with the junior high school kids, nor with the high school kids. there is a break for lunch, which is served at school, and usually one or two recess periods during the day. One big custom is that at the end of 12th grade, there is a "prom," which is a end of year dance at which usually only the 11th and 12th grade are allowed to attend. Sometimes, its just the 12th grade. most schools these days have both girls and boys in them, but there are some private schools where only girls go and some where only boys go. Here, "public" schools refer to schools funded by the government (via the taxpayers) that are open to everyone who lives here. We also have private schools that are secular (not religious based). We have church funded schools. The catholics have a lot of these. Publich schools here used to be neighborhood based. But prior to the 1960's, at least in the south, but also in some other places, black kids were not allowed to attend white schools. To correct this problem, in the 1960, the US supremem court ordered that schools be integrated, and the mechanism to do this was busing. So, black kids who did not live in a white neighborhood, nor close to the school, would be bused in so that there would be blacks at the school. And white kids were bused to schools in black neighborhoods so that there would be the presence of white kids there. Of course, this caused a lot of social discontent, and much of it still exists. People have written whole books about all this, so i won't try to tell you all about it here. But one result is that many places here in the south, lots of whites have left the public school system and have gone to sending their children to private schools. This state of affairs is not so in every part of the US, but more so in the south east. Sports: some elementary schools have football (american football) teams, but it usually starts in ernest at the junior high school level. the sports are american football, baseball, basket ball, and recently, soccer (european football), and sometimes golf. going to school football games is a lot of fun for everyone at the school. even in junior high school, there are dances from time to time. Well, i hope there is something in this that you can use. the article below may tell you more. If you want kids to answer you (I am 59) write your question again, 6 - 10 hours from now, like when its 7 - 11PM in London.

Spartan school of aeronautics in tulsa oklahoma
2 :
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University located in Daytona Beach, FL and Prescott, AZ. 25% of all airline pilots go to ERAU.
3 :
The best flying school is in oakland , california , "Oakland School of AVIATION" .............this is the best , yes , i'am 15 yr old student pilot learning aviation in this school , i have completed my high school and now joined in aviation , i have flown the tecnam P-92 and cessna 172SP , etc. The best place to learn and practice aviation is ""Oakland school of AVIATION"" alaqmar_aviation_champion bye
4 :
well i am still going to embry riddle even though i have flown a big boeing overseas before and that school in daytona beach is reaaly a good school and it is getting me through my career very nicely
5 :
University of North Dakota or Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Both schools offer Bachelor of Science degrees in Aviation/Flight, and you can earn your commercial pilot's license for a lot less than one of those for-profit commercial schools.
6 :
it depends of the area you live central plains is spartan school of aeronautics they been teaching pilots since 1928 then embbry riddle in AZ or flight safety in Florida! Ps edit i recomend spartan i have been there and tulsa is a great town !
7 :
If you really want to learn something about flying planes, go to your local small airport and find some grizzled old gray haired instructor who's not building time to get to an airline. He's teaching flying because he loves to fly and/or loves to teach. It'll be cheaper in the long run and you'll come out a better pilot for it.
8 :
There's always the Air Force Academy. You can earn a bachelor's degree, earn your wings, get some unique experience and have one hell of a resume to take to the real world.

What universities in UK/Ireland recognize the american high school diploma

What universities in UK/Ireland recognize the american high school diploma?
I will hopefully get a high school diploma in USA this year. Which are the other entry requirements for EU students (i live in italy even though i'll have an american high school diploma, not an italian one - can i be considered a EU student anyway?)? Finally, how much do universities cost in UK/Ireland?

I don't know about the U.K. but I do know how the Irish system works: Irish students apply for entry to univerities and colleges through a centalised points-based system. Students from other E.U. member states are accepted on the same basis as Irish students (adjusted for the standards of educational certification in their home country) but, instead of being processed through the centralised system, they have to apply directly to individual colleges or universities. The costs for E.U. students are the same as for Irish students (i.e. funded by the taxpayer, except for some intiial registration fees of up to €1500... although it looks increasingly likely this will change in the very-near future). As for recognition of your American diploma, your best option would be to directly contact whatever university or college you are interested and and ask them. Once you are operating outside the Irish points-system (as you will be, unless you studied in Ireland) then each college or university imposes it's own (broadly-similar, but significantly different in some particular instances) requirements-for-entry on prospective students. Finally, if you are American (and not actually an Italian citizen), your course likely won't be subsidised by the tax-payer and you'll have to pay full fees anyway which, again, vary, depending on the particular course you want to enroll in.

no.
2 :
America is founded on illegal immigrants!
3 :
That would leave america with only the native indians
4 :
Unless your ancestors were Native Americans then you are all illegal immigrants.
5 :
The illegal immigrants may bring prayer back to school. Most of them still believe in God.
6 :
its only americans need of naked woman that they have turned their backs on religion it is the immigrants that keep religion alive

Well we just hate to be blessed, they prefer the curses. M't:19:14: But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Psalms:9:17: The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. Psalms:50:22: Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver. ♥ † ♥ ☺ Thanks a million morons.
8 :
You can pray at any time and anywhere. No one around you has to know, even. If you show it off, I think that makes your prayer suspect in terms of sincerity. Illegal immigrants exist only in the addled minds of tea-baggers and the like.
