Es poste or exante? Ex post -- any public university in your home state Ex ante -- any law school in the top ten. Yale may be really expensive -- but the extra money you make will more than pay for the extra cost. Some third tier public university may offer a law degree at a reasonable price -- but your chances of passing the bar on the first try or getting a higher paying job when you are done goes WAY down. University of California at Berkeley and University of Michigan may be the best bang for your buck (if you are a state resident). Don't just look at tuition costs. Look at their placements and their pass rate for the Bar as well.

After finishing high school, you've completed 12 years of formal education.
2 :
When you've graduated high school in the US, you've generally had 12 years of education. Unless of course you were held back in certain grades. Then it would be more than 12 years.
3 :
Twelve years of education all together not counting kindergarten or any preschool. If your asking high school specifically, it is four years.
4 :
High School is usually the last three years of the 12 year educational system in the U.S. You don't get a degree in High School, you get a Certificate of Completion. "Degrees" apply to University Courses, and it usually takes four years of college to get a degree.

I in a back to front fashion

It is no longer difficult to be placed on the honor roll. It used to be only the best, in the harder classes, would be placed on it. Now a lot of school have reduced their expectations, the work load in a lot of systems has been dumbed down. The course no longer have to be the harder ones. They wanted to make more kids proud but in reality, that have taken the honer away for superficial ego boosts. End results are kids getting awarded for doing whats expected, not going above and beyond.
3 :
It depends on what classes you take really. I took pretty difficult classes in high school, like AP classes (for college credit) and honors classes and things like that, and for me it was really difficult, but if you took easier classes, it wasn't that difficult to make honor roll.
4 :
You must maintain a high GPA. Or get A's and B's in all classes. Some schools have high honor roll, which just means keeping a higher GPA all year. It takes going to all classes, handing in all work on time, and getting good grades on all work, quizzes and tests.
5 :
requies dedication but isnt difficult to get, we have a load of people in NHS (national honor society) which requires 2 extra cirrcular at school and 2 more out of school all the while maintaing a 3.5 GPA that is cummlative (basically works on 5.0 principle instead of 4.0)

call the admissions office of a large university, such as penn State. talk to the admissions counslor they will know the answer.
2 :
Yes you can use your foreign HS diploma to gain admission into an American university. Just get your academic records evaluated by an organization approved/accepted by your preferred university. It's very important to work with evaluators known to and approved by your preferred university, so work with the international students office to get his accomplished.
