It's about the same, except we don't study religion and philosophy (not that I know of...). Here's a link of the classes we have at my high school: http://bxscience.edu/apps/classes/?rn=9956165 Homework for me is about a few hours a night...sometimes all night...

A sixteen year old would probably study: some type of math (trigonometry, pre-calculus, etc.) science (physics or chemestry) english (I think I took American Literature that year) history (I think that year was American history) gym class I took French as far as language goes, but Spanish seems like the most popular choice and some sort of elective class of their choice... my school had many options (you could take something in business, art, music, and I took one where you worked in a pre-school) I didn't have too much homework, maybe an hour or so a night. Hope this helps! It would be a great experience to school in another country, no matter what that couantry is.

At 16 you would be a sophomore (10th grade) or a junior (11th grade) so here you would study English, math, science, History (usually U.S. History), and a few electives. You only have religion if you attend a private school with some kind of religious affiliation like a Catholic school because of separation of Church and State.
